Crown apartment building in Mackay, Queensland — Poor construction practices and inadequate materials choices, combined with the high rainfall, tropical temperatures and an exposed marine location caused almost a complete failure of the building envelope from a waterproofing and weatherproofing view-point, which rendered numerous units within the block uninhabitable.
